Vic: Shops to close on Anzac Day morning

MELBOURNE, April 24 AAP - Many shops would close on the morning of Anzac Day, Small
Business Minister Marsha Thompson said today.

Ms Thompson said most shops would close between midnight tonight and 1pm tomorrow as
a mark of respect for Australians who fought in wars for their country.

She said in a statement some shops such as newsagents and milk bars would be exempt
from the closure provided they had less than 20 employees.

Retailers that breached the law could face fines of up to $10,000, she said.
