NT:Man struck, dies on NT road

The Northern Territory has recorded its first road fatality of the Christmas season.

Police say a 37-year-old man was hit by a road train near Elliot, about half-way between
Darwin and Alice Springs.

Medical staff from a nearby health clinic had called police after trying to help the
man after the collision around 2.30am this morning.

His death brings the national road toll to nine fatalities.
