Couple shares workload

For the past 20 years -- every day of their married life -- Judy and Jeff Walter have worked together at Zimmerman's Automotive Service, the 40-year-old Mechanicsburg business founded by Judy's father, Norman Zimmerman.

As the chief of operations and overseer of the automotive aspects of the business, Jeff must ask permission of his wife, the officer of administration and overseer of funds, when he wants to purchase a new piece of equipment for the shop.

This scenario would be a potential minefield for most couples. But the Walter's have, after much trial and error, figured out a way to make it work.
