The Chrysler group is adding a third shift at its Toledo North plant in Toledo, Ohio, where it builds the Jeep Liberty and will soon produce the Dodge Nitro SUV.
The third shift is expected to create 750 jobs. Most will be filled by Chrysler workers called back from layoff. Many will come from the Toledo area, a company spokesman said.
The new workers will join 2,700 current employees. The third shift will be added in the third quarter, a spokesman said.
The new shift coincides with production of the 2007 Nitro.
