SCHENECTADY - A six-screen cinema to be operated by a New York City entertainment and real estate firm is a key link in a downtown revitalization plan.
Bow Tie Partners will operate the cinema, which will occupy the first two floors of a $10 million, five-story office build ing at the State Street and Broadway corner lot. It is the site of the former Hough building and is now a vacant lot.
The news comes a year after plans to build a larger movie theater elsewhere downtown proved financially impractical and fell through.
